The African Society of Primatology (APS) is holding its 3rd congress in Potchefstroom, South Africa, from September 25 to 28, 2024.
APS is a pan-African society aiming to promote research on primates and their conservation on the African continent with a more great commitment and leadership of Africans. It was launched in 2017 in Côte d’Ivoire and has since been directed by Professor Inza Koné, Director General of the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS).
The objective of the 3rd APS Congress is to strengthen its position to serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences between researchers, environmentalists, education practitioners, donors and policy makers across the African continent with a view to effective conservation of African primates.
After seven years of existence, the APS has played an essential role in raising the status and integrating African primatologists into the global scientific community. Since its inception, the APS has played a vital role in promoting networking opportunities, facilitating knowledge exchange and promoting recognition of African leadership in primatology. We are convinced that this 3rd APS Congress will inspire new actions for a strong and impactful society.
